Career Counseling Services

Over the past several months Kerns & Associates, Inc. has been contacted by several individuals requesting assistance in planning and strategizing the next phase of their careers in light of the severe economic conditions that exist in the construction industry today.  Many of these individuals were employed in companies that were downsizing and consequently, offered little, if any opportunity for growth or continuous education; in some cases, proven professionals had become unemployed as the result of these downsizing activities.  In response to concerns and requests for assistance, Kerns & Associates, Inc. is announcing a new Career Counseling service it will make available to construction professionals.

The counseling service will start with a meeting to assess skills, experience, education, and certifications as well as the individual’s goals and long term plans.  The objective of the meeting is to develop an accurate assessment of the underlying foundation of skill sets and experience and how they will assist in the achievement of the individuals stated goals.   Resumes will be re-written or edited as necessary to highlight achievements and successes.

A custom marketing strategy and definitive plan will be developed to provide maximum exposure within the industry, and at the same time, respecting confidentially where necessary.  Routine follow-up meeting to assess progress and effectiveness of the marketing program will be scheduled on a bi-weekly basis.
